Mia is a partner and member of the Corporate and Commercial Group of the Firm.
Her focus is M&A and banking and finance. She has worked on significant cross-border and domestic M&A transactions in which she rendered advice on structure, regulatory, contract and transition issues. Her M&A track record include a cooperation and operation agreement for a major entertainment and gaming facility, share and asset acquisitions in the bank and finance sectors, and mergers of a bank's subsidiaries. Mia has been repeatedly cited in the Legal500 Asia-Pacific as a recommended lawyer for Corporate and M&A.
Mia also has extensive transactional experience in project and corporate finance, having participated in deals for leading banks. These transactions funded major industry players in energy, mining, real property, commodities and government infrastructure projects. Mia has also handled several high-value international and domestic debt issuances for one of the Philippines largest banks.
In addition to her activities in the M&A and project finance areas, Mia has been involved in notable private and public equity offerings and corporate restructures, where she has taken a primary role in securities registration, regulatory compliance, and stock exchange listing. Several listed and publicly-held companies regularly seek Mia's advice on a range of corporate and compliance matters. Mia is Corporate Information Officer of a listed company, handling disclosures and regulatory and compliance matters.
She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2004. Prior to joining the Firm, Mia was an associate at Picazo Buyco Tan Fider & Santos Law Office until 2006. In 2013, Mia was admitted to the New York Bar.
